Photo copyright indicators

Copyright indicator

Since introduction of Phoboss 3 (2016.04), visual copyright indication in Hubert and Edward has changed. Because Phoboss 3 groups similar photos (with possibly different copyrights) under one photo (mediarecord), therefore we calculate best matching copyright indicator from all photos grouped.

Copyright calculation algorithm takes following parameters into account:

  • If the photo usage is restricted to channel – does the current channel match?
  • If the photo usage is restricted to channel and the channel is a part of the channel group – does the current channel belong to this group as well?
  • If the photo usage is restricted to the emission – does the emission date match?

Free & Paid

To limit number of colours in the copyright indicator, we have separated the sign for the free and paid photos. Free copyright indicator is presented as the circle and paid copyright indicator is presented as triangle.

The meaning of the indicator is as follows:

Photo is free. This indicator means that the photo has the emission and channel restriction and that both of them matches with the current context.
Photo is free. This indicator means that the photo does not have the emission restriction and all other restrictions are met.
Photo is free. This indicator means that one of the restrictions imposed by the copyright is not met.
Photo is not free. This indicator means that the photo has the emission and channel restriction and that both of them matches with the current context.
Photo is not free. This indicator means that the photo does not have the emission restriction and all other restrictions are met.
Photo is not free. This indicator means that one of the restrictions imposed by the copyright is not met.

Please note: you can encounter both free and paid indicator on the photo. Posiibly with different color. This means that some of the photos in group are free and some are not. We show this information to allow you to decide whether you prefer the free photo with less matching copyrights or paid one the the better match.

So, which color is ok?

Green and blue copyrights are ok. Yellow means that the copyright does not match.
